innovecom is pleased to announce we are hosting a Step by Step Cyber Essentials training course at our headquarters, North Barn on 23 March 2017.
The course, accredited by IASME Consortium, will be delivered by BPH Training starting.
What is Cyber Essentials?
2015 saw a global increase to 43% in the number of cyber attacks targeted at businesses with fewer than 250 employees.
The HMG Information Security Breaches Survey states 74% of small businesses suffered a security breach with the average cost of the most serious attacks ranging anywhere from £75k to £311k!
The UK Government sponsored Cyber Essentials Scheme aims to help organisations of all sizes implement basic levels of protection against cyber attack. Allowing them to demonstrate to their customers that they take security of information seriously.
Since 1 October 2014, Cyber Essentials became a minimum requirement for SMEs bidding for some government contracts, or to join the government’s contract supply chain.
Cyber Essentials is the cost effective approach for any organisation to defend against the most common Internet based cyber threats. Certification is also an excellent foundation to your preparation for the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which comes into effect in May 2018.
No prior cyber security knowledge is required for this one day course. The course will train you in the core concepts of cyber security and the steps required to complete the IASME and Cyber Essentials self-assessment process.
It will provide you with the knowledge to complete the self-assessment questionnaire, and the confidence to ask the right questions of suppliers and experts within your own company, to find the answers you need.
