Swarf Required by NX Infrastructure Ltd
NX Infrastructure in Neath, West Wales have a requirement for swarf to be used in the manufacture of stainless steel reinforcing bar.
Chemical analysis of main elements expected in swarf deliveries:
Element & Composition, Weight Percent
Carbon 0.400 max
Sulfur 0.045 max
Phosphorus 0.030 max
Manganese 1.400 max
Silicon 0.04 / 0.40
Note: Higher results on analysis or excessive variation may be cause for rejection.
Desired Range of Non-Specified Elements & Composition, Weight Percent
Chromium 0.85 max
Nickel 0.50 max
Copper 0.25 max
Molybdenum 0.25
Other Characteristics
- clean steel scrap produced from steel turnings and machining processes
- swarf only, no bulk solids allowed
- the material must be free of cast iron and non-ferrous materials
- the quality and size of the material shall be consistent for good performance in the swarf preparation area (swarf preparation includes primary crushing, kiln processing, magnetic separation and secondary crushing)
- the swarf shall be free of any radioactive material
A single source of swarf, generally collected at the piont of manufacture, is preferred. Minimum bulk density of approximately 35 pounds per cubic foot.
Regards quantities, we can take lots from 20 tonnes upwards, provided the source is all one grade, although initially wewould be happy to take just a few barrels for production trials.
