DESCRIPTION:Practical understanding and insights on navigating the Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism \nCBAM (Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism) introduces a complex system of carbon tariffs on imports into the EU\, covering sectors including iron\, steel and aluminium (plus cement\, fertilizer\, hydrogen and electricity) — industries known for their high carbon intensity. The Transitional (or trial) Period which started in Oct 2023 has meant that companies inside the EU who import goods from outside the EU that fall within a defined list of import codes\, must provide a quarterly CBAM return to declare specific embedded greenhouse gas emissions. From Jan 2026\, the importer will be required to purchase corresponding CBAM certificates\, reflecting the cost of carbon emissions priced within the EU Emissions Trading Scheme (ETS). Therefore\, potentially making some imported goods more expensive than they are today. UK exporters are already seeing requests from their EU customers to provide embedded emissions declarations. How this information is calculated and provided not only affects compliance\, but also the perceived cost of goods from Jan 2026. \nUK CBAM is a similar scheme but will affect UK importers of iron\, steel and aluminium. This starts from Jan 2027\, there is no Transitional Period\, and taxes will be applied on embedded carbon emissions of imports from day one. \nMark Miller and Paul Thomas of Auditel (UK) Limited\, a Carbon Solutions company\, will deliver this webinar to introduce and take questions about managing EU CBAM requirements today and preparing for UK CBAM.

DESCRIPTION:About this event:  \nThis event is delivered in collaboration with the High Value Manufacturing Catapult (HVMC)\, hosted at the National Composite Centre (NCC) in Bristol.  \nThe Innovation Showcase will convene aerospace\, hydrogen and cryogenics industry leaders to discuss requirements\, market opportunities and possible collaborations for on-aircraft hydrogen fuel systems and components. DESCRIPTION:Airbus Virtual Work Experience: 3-14 July 2023\nAirbus in the UK is once again opening its virtual doors and inviting students to take part in the Airbus digital work experience programme from 3-14 July (further information can be found via this link www.springpod.com/virtual-work-experience/aerospace-work-experience). \nThe programme enables Airbus to provide accredited work experience to young people\, aimed at students aged between 14-19\, no matter where they live.  Anyone can register to join and we would like to encourage as many students as possible to participate. \nRegistrations close on 28 June.  \n\nWhat’s included in the Airbus Virtual Work Experience?\n\nStudents will hear from the people who make Airbus the company that it is and give you opportunities to complete activities in various departments to get a feel of what department is most interesting for you. \nWe’ll even let you in on some industry secrets… like did you know it takes more than 3600 litres of paint to paint the exterior of the aircraft? \n\nWe’ll also go into detail about Space Exploration and how new initiatives help us here on Earth. \nMaybe it’s time to take the Airbus Aerospace programme!  \n\n\n\n  \nThe purpose of this programme is to encourage and inspire students to consider studying STEM subjects\, as well as giving them an understanding and insight into the exciting world of aerospace and the career opportunities this could lead to. \nIn the past three years\, more than 9\,000 students and pupils have taken part in the virtual work experience programme. \nAnalysis from April’s programme showed: \n\n2\,650 students enrolled and of which\n33% were female\n55% were ethnic minority\n35% expected to be the first in their families to go to university\n20% were entitled to free school meals\n6% reported themselves as having a disability or SEN\n\nAirbus recognises investment in future skills is crucial to our business and the UK’s economic growth and prosperity. \nRegistrations close on 28 June
