The UK’s (and Southwest’s) aerospace sector contributes massively to the economy with high growth potential in the near future. Aerospace leads in the development and application of innovation in both product and process. Aerospace and advanced engineering as a sector has a mature and well-defined innovation methodology that makes it a challenging and exciting industry to work in.

CATAPULT CENTRES​

Organisations set up from 2011 onwards by Innovate UK in the UK to promote research and development through business-led collaboration between scientists and engineers to exploit market opportunities.

SOMERSET INNOVATION NETWORK

The Somerset Innovation Network aims to encourage collaboration and innovation between advanced engineering businesses, whilst helping them grow and develop through a variety of tailored free business support.
