Published on: 3rd April 2017

Aish Technologies, the Poole-based defence systems manufacturer, has been recognised by missile systems specialist MBDA as an essential supplier. The firm was awarded a Bronze recognition award for its contribution to the Sea Ceptor project.
The prestigious award, one of only 6 presented to over 500 mechanical suppliers, was presented to the Aish team for their outstanding performance and delivery. The criteria for the award also included aspects of quality, innovation, capability and business improvement. Throughout 2016 Aish have played a pivotal role in supporting MBDA with the Sea Ceptor missile system project. The work undertaken included resolving particularly complex paint and configuration issues with the missiles. Despite these, the exceptional working relationship between MBDA and Aish meant on-time delivery and quality standards were achieved. MBDA were impressed with how Aish could meet both quality requirements and delivery schedules.
MBDA is a partnership between BAE Systems, Airbus and Leonardo. It is the only group in Europe capable of designing and producing missiles and missile systems to meet the whole current range and future needs of the three armed forces. The Sea Ceptor is a sea-based supersonic missile defence system developed by MBDA for the UK’s Royal Navy.
The Bronze award was presented to Aish by Symon Allen, Principal Procurement Officer at MBDA, who commented:

Aish have become a key supplier to MBDA and they can always be relied upon. They are much more than just a fabrication company, with a very strong technical competence and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances very quickly. I very much look forward to continuing this partnership we have developed with Aish.”
On receiving the award, Lloyd Bates, Managing Director of Aish Technologies, responded:
We are very pleased to be working with MBDA on such a prestigious project and we are delighted that our hard work and commitment has been recognised. The whole team are to be congratulated on how they have performed and delivered. We will now concentrate on further improvements to achieve silver and possibly even gold status next year.”
