A College is promoting its Project Management courses ahead of a planned expansion into the South-West. Their foundation degree is backed and used extensively by major companies across the UK.

Blackpool and the Fylde College have high quality education delivery centres around the country, with Bristol the next earmarked location.

Developed in partnership with blue chip giant BAE Systems, the Foundation Degree in Project Management can be studied part-time or full-time, and can lead to the BSc (Hons) Degree. The college also provides the very successful Higher Apprenticeship in Project Management.

As well as BAE Systems, employers such as Rolls Royce and the Civil Service are giving support to the programmes, which are validated by Lancashire University – consistently voted one of the Top Ten Universities in the UK and top 1 % in the World.

Steve Crowther, Head of Project Management Capability at BAE Systems Military Air & Information says: “We engaged in a long term relationship with Blackpool and The Fylde College and Lancaster University to ensure our students receive the best possible support on their journey towards a career in Project Management. The level of support provided by the College and the quality of interaction has been first class. Building on the success of the scheme, we are planning to further increase our annual intake of trainees in the future.”

David Hutt, Business Development Manager at the college explains: “The results each year are outstanding, with over half of students achieving Distinction grades. Graduates have gone on to find success in many different industry sectors, so the potential for those working in aerospace with an interest and passion for Project Management is great”
