CADCAM developer Delcam has added a further 28 graduates and undergraduates to the staff at its Birmingham headquarters during the company’s 2015 summer intake.  The extra staff are being added across the company’s various departments, including software development, engineering support and marketing.

The latest group of recruits includes both new graduates in permanent positions and students gaining employment experience during their courses that have been given fixed-term placements.  Delcam works closely with a number of universities to provide industrial experience to students, usually in the third year of their courses.

“The placement system works well for both the company and the students,” commented Software Development Manager, Richard Barratt.  “It gives us an extended opportunity to assess the students’ potential as full-time employees, while the practical experience we provide benefits them when they apply for jobs at end of their courses.  For many years, we have offered some of our new permanent positions to students that have previously impressed us during earlier placements at Delcam.”

Delcam’s placement scheme has become very well established in recent years and is ranked highly on independent websites.  For 2015, the company is ranked thirteenth in the ‘smaller scheme’ listing produced by the Job Crowd website.  These rankings are based entirely on the views of new graduate employees.  In addition, Delcam was again at number six on RateMyPlacement’s latest list of the Top 30 Medium-sized Undergraduate Schemes.   The positive comments on the sites help to attract more applications.

Even though this year’s recruitment has just been completed, applications have already opened for Delcam’s placements and graduate recruitment for next summer, with details on the various positions available at www.delcam.com/graduates.  The company will again be looking for first class applicants for all its departments, with assessment days planned in Birmingham during the autumn.
