Nick Jones – Partner

Nick joined GL Law in March 2017, prior to the merger with Shakespeare Martineau in October 2022 as an Associate Director and Head of Employment & Corporate Support.

Previously at Lyons Davidson, he brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise specialising in all aspects of employment law including advising employers, business owners and senior executives on the strategic employment law issues affecting their business.

Nick is also a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and Bristol Law Society.

Cecily Donoghue – Senior Associate

Cecily joined GL Law as a solicitor in the employment team in August 2017 prior to the merger with Shakespeare Martineau in October 2022. Previously at TLT LLP, Cecily has experience assisting employers, business owners and senior executives on a wide range of employment issues including:

    • Document support – including employment contracts, handbooks and service agreements;
    • Day to day advisory issues – such as sickness and performance management, disciplinary and grievance processes;
    • Procedural support – including changes to terms and conditions, individual redundancies, collective consultation and TUPE transfers; and
    • Defending Tribunal claims and negotiating with ACAS.

Cecily is also a member of the Employment Lawyers Association and the Bristol Law Society.
