Fine Tubes wins contract to supply hydraulic tubing for new generation of Snecma engines

Fine Tubes, a leading manufacturer and global distributor of precision tubes for critical applications, is delighted to announce that it has received final supplier approval from Snecma, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of aircraft and rocket engines. This is the start of an eight year programme involving the supply of Nickel alloy 625, grade 321 and Titanium CP grade 2 hydraulic tubing for two major new engine projects.

The family of LEAP® engines is designed to equip short and medium commercial jets requiring a thrust of between 20,000 and 33,000 lbs. Developed to meet market demands for improved fuel consumption and reduced maintenance costs, variants of the engine have already been selected by Airbus for the A320neo, Boeing for the 737 MAX, and COMAC, the Chinese manufacturer, for the new C919 single-aisle aircraft.

The Silvercrest® engine is being developed for large and long-range business jets and will deliver between 9,500 and 12,000 pounds of thrust. Incorporating some of the most innovative technologies from Snecma research, the Silvercrest® has already been selected by Cessna to power its future aircraft, the Citation Longitude®.

Charles Ferreira, Fine Tubes’ Business Development Manager for Western Europe, commented: “This new collaboration will allow Fine Tubes to bid on all Snecma/Safran’s projects, providing a great opportunity for the company to be involved in many significant aerospace operations. Fine Tubes will also supply tubing to Snecma’s subcontractors and subsidiaries such as TurboMeca and Snecma HAL.”
