Needles and Pins Aerospace Ltd specialise in the design and manufacture of bespoke protective covers, acoustic insulation, and interior fabric solutions for both military and civilian aircraft. With over 50 years of combined expertise, they are trusted by leading aerospace and defence organisations to deliver durable, custom-made products that meet the highest performance and compliance standards.
From external aircraft covers and GSE protection to acoustic blankets and cockpit furnishings, every item they produce is made with precision, care, and an in-depth understanding of the demands of the aviation and defence sector.
On the 4th July 2025, WEAF CEO Colin Turner and Membership Consultant Ian Davies attended the opening of the new factory in Somerton in Somerset.
It was a lovely sunny day and the opening of the new factory was extremely well attended with dignitaries from Needles and Pins main customers, Boeing UK and Leonardo as well as local colleges and other supporting associations such as ADS.
Needles an Pins are a family owned, female-led business that specialise in the design and manufacture of bespoke protective covers, acoustic insulation and interior fabric solutions for both military and civilian aircraft. They started six years ago with just two employees and two sewing machines and have expanded significantly since then and now employ fifteen dedicated staff and quickly outgrew their old premises. The new facility offers the footprint, capacity and efficient layout for Needles and Pins to offer their high quality textile solutions to more customers in the aerospace and defence sector.
The official opening was made by Steve Burnell the Managing Director of Boeing Defence UK who spoke highly of the dedication, quality and customer service provided by Needles and Pins to his business. Responding for Needles and Pins owner Carole Champion and COO Dillon Harmon thanked WEAF and all customers and colleagues for their support and with the new facility look forward to more growth and prosperity in the coming years.
