Specialist aerospace parts manufacturer, TWM Technology, has taken delivery of two new vertical CNC milling machining centres and associated tooling and workholding. This forms the latest stage of a £250,000 investment programme designed to improve capacity, capability and efficiency at the company. This type of machine is central to production at TWM Technology, which specialises in the manufacture of high-end hermetic metal packages, microwave and RF electronics housings, and other components.
The parts manufactured by TWM Technology require unrivalled accuracy, precision and attention to detail in order to allow the complex electronics to function as designed. With the ability not only to machine, but also plate and solder-assemble feedthroughs and RAM material, TWM Technology is well-placed in the aerospace market.
The larger of the two new machining centres has a metre-long machinable bed which will allow better fixturing and substantially increase production capacity. The considerable size will allow lights-out running to maximise efficiency.
The second machine will add to TWM Technology’s quick turnaround prototyping service, which provides essential support for customers’ engineering

departments.
The current investment programme includes not only new machinery, but also investment in personnel with several new faces joining the team.
TWM Technology is based in Honiton, Devon and is a member of the British-owned EuroTech Group plc. Their flexible service includes fast delivery, impressive technical capabilities, and close working relationships with designers. For more information, visit www.twmtech.co.uk or call 01404 46737.
