Poeton Industries Ltd is a 115 year old business with two production sites in the UK, employing 150 people, processing components for many of the world’s largest OEM’s. It also has a globally recognised range of wear and corrosion resistant coatings sold under the Apticote trade mark, and supports industry world-wide with technical sales and R&D capabilities.

ATC, established in 2004, is a Singaporean treatment group employing 180 people over three production sites, two in Singapore and one in Penang, Malaysia. The company supplies a wide range of advanced surface treatments to the aerospace, oil & gas, medical and electronics industries, and also offers clean room facilities.

ATC Poeton will combine the expertise of both Poeton & ATC, providing a wide range of wear and corrosion resistant coatings to aerospace, defence, oil & gas and many other industrial sectors in the South East Asia region. In addition, the company will be able to offer customers a one stop shop covering, technical sales, research & development and coating design support.

The joint venture will combine the ethos of Poeton & ATC to ensure each customer is provided with exceptional customer service with quality underpinned by Nadcap & AS 9100C processes.

“Our commitment to providing exceptional customer service and our ability to supply an extensive range of high technology coatings has facilitated growth in Europe, even through the recent very tough economic headwinds. Positioning ourselves in Singapore and Malaysia will provide specialist treatment support  for our existing customers who operate within South East Asia and will allow Poeton to penetrate high technology markets in this region” says Lyndon Follows, MD of Poeton Industries.

ATC owner and Managing Director, Marcus Sia, says, “The combining of our two companies will provide an unrivalled treatment support capability in the region, one that can offer a wide range of advanced wear and corrosion resistant coatings used by a diverse range of South East Asian industries”.

Both Managing Directors are pleased to announce that ATC Poeton has now entered Phase 2 of the JV roadmap and is completing its first major investment by installing a new automated processing line to support Aerospace and other high technology customers. The new line will be fully operational in June 2013 and symbolises the commitment of the JV to  ever improving standards of quality and service.
