Published on: 24th February 2026

WEAF was well represented at the opening of member Westwire Harnessing’s new extended and improved facility at their base in Swindon, providing a configurable space and capacity to scale rapidly for future growth.

Westwire Harnessing designs and produces mission-critical electrical sysyems used by military aircraft, drones, armoured vehicles and satellites. They were acquired in 2021 by Indian group SASMOS HET Technologies who, since that time have invested in people, facilities and equipment and developed a growth strategy which has seen the business grow by 4 times since the acquisition. They plan to double output over the next three years and create another 80 jobs.

The opening ceremony was performed by local MP Will Stone who has been a great supporter of manufacturing in region alongside SASMOS CEO Ajit Chandresaker and Westwire MD Andy Russell.

As WEAF transitions to ADS South West it will continue to support and work with all its members to bring growth and advanced technology to the region.
