The next in the series of the Empowering Women in the Workplace event took place at iAero in Yeovil.
The third in the event series, the WEAF team was delighted to welcome people throughout industry and in all stages of their career
The fully packed session focussed on menopause and female leadership. Carole Champion shared how Needles and Pins Aerospace, which started six years ago with just two employees and two sewing machines, has significantly expanded in recent years.
Needles and Pins is a family-owned, female-led which delivers high quality textile solutions to customers in the aerospace and defence sectors.
Carole commented: “Thank you for a most informative day but importantly a relaxing, comfortable discussion around the topic in hand, Menopause. Let’s be more open about this in our workplaces.
“We will certainly be organising a talk on this for all employees, more awareness of this subject will benefit everyone.”
Karen Leigh, an HR and Menopause Coach, discussed the uniqueness of menopause as a trek. Karen with candour and openness supported the group on how to regain confidence, balance, and control.
With a focus on thriving and not just surviving, Karen discussed how peers and male allies can support individuals effectively with compassion and understanding.
