We have acquired six amazing new customers; covering MCS’s core capabilities in Integrated Logistics/Product Support (ILS/IPS) on a MoD framework & with a Space/Secure Comms OEM behemoth; they are defining and implementing the Digital Enterprise Architecture Strategy with a military jet start up; supporting another customers’ Naval bid writing; & Defence Business Development support for a civilian partner helping them gain traction in Defence. They also have some very exciting ongoing negotiations for which they are currently sworn to secrecy!

MCS joined both the Equinox Programme Delivery Partner (PDP) Framework with Jacobs, Turner & Townsend, and the Aurora Engineering Delivery Partner (EDP) Framework with Atkins, QinetiQ & BMT. As well as joining the SERAPIS, and PROGENY frameworks.

Some of the eagle-eyed will have already spotted on their social media that they’ve been awarded the Silver ERS Award by the AFC. This is a significant achievement and recognises their commitment & desire to be a forces first organisation in everything they do. MCS will accept the award at a ceremony held at The National Space Centre in September.

About the ‘WHY’ of MCS

Our mission is; “Enabling our Armed Forces to be mission-ready through the provision of Technical and Engineering Expertise & Services”.

Although a bit of a mouthful, in essence it means everything they do should enable our Armed Forces to support our war fighters; they often talk about converting as much of the taxpayers £££ into stuff that brings value to the war fighter, with the flexibility, openness, innovation, collaboration and partnering that only a small nimble company can truly enable.

To quote an Air Marshall recently:

“Mark, what you’re offering is an alternative to the big companies”; and yes, in many ways that’s what we’re aspiring to do whilst remaining true to our
Vision of “Inspiring an Outcome focussed Defence Culture”.

MCS recently attended The Chief of the Air Staffs Global Air & Space Chiefs’ Conference at the IET in London. They got to hear from CAS ACM Sir Rich Knighton KCB ADC FREng, among a host of other Air & Space Chiefs from around the world, and the Rt. Hon. James Heappey MP.

Two takeaways from the Global Air & Space Conference

  • Firstly, two of the presenters shared photographs comparing World War I trenches with those of Ukraine 2023; other than a little tech, the photos could have been taken on the same day; shocking we’ve come over 100 years and we’re still ostensibly fighting wars the same way.
  • Secondly, that the technology, the strategy, the cunning, the international collaboration we have sets us apart from our peer adversaries. Both points unreservedly remind us why we are part of the Defence Industry and they have spent a lifetime and career striving for the best kit and services for our war fighters.

What’s your Why?
