Billy Cox Profile

Published on: 31st July 2025

The WEAF team recently welcomed Billy Cox, a University of West England student, as a Network & Data Coordinator on an internship. Billy has been an integral part of the team working on several high-impact projects over the last few months.

Billy actively engaged with WEAF members. Furthermore, he analysed data to comprehend its meaning and value; so that WEAF can ensure it drives positive change and learnings for its members within the aerospace, defence, and advanced manufacturing sectors.

Billy had to undertake independent learning when conducting tasks but integrated well into the team asking the right questions and providing solutions.

Billy also supported the WEAF annual conference in Weston-Super-Mare. It provided him with a deeper insight into the aerospace and advanced manufacturing sectors in the South West and make-up of the members’ and their innovations.

On his experience at WEAF, Billy commented: “My time at WEAF has been a positive step for me. I’ve grown professionally, discovered new career interests, and contributed to real projects that matter. I’m incredibly grateful to Colin and the team for their support, trust, and guidance throughout.

If the opportunity came again, I’d jump at the chance to work with WEAF or be involved in their network. And after everything I’ve learned, I’m genuinely excited to explore aerospace and defence more seriously as a long-term direction.”

Thanks, Billy, for all your hard work and dedication. Good luck with your next steps!
