Woodford Engineering Consultancy recognised with a prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise

Published on: 31st July 2019

On 24th July, Woodford Engineering Consultancy had the great honour of welcoming the Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Greater Manchester, Paul Griffiths DL to our head office in Cheadle Hulme. The Vice Lord-Lieutenant made the formal presentation of the Queen’s Award for Enterprise in the form of a commemorative crystal bowl and a Grant of Appointment scroll signed by Her Majesty the Queen and the Prime Minister. During his visit, the Vice Lord-Lieutenant had the opportunity to meet many of our engineers and learn a little about what WEC does in aircraft systems development.

Woodford Engineering Consultancy is one of only 201 organisations nationally to be recognised with a prestigious Queen’s Award for Enterprise, Britain’s most coveted commercial prize. The award is in the category of International Trade, for which 129 awards were made nationally. The award reflects not only WEC’s significant and growing export revenue but also a recognition of the value of what WEC does, in playing a part in the maintenance and development of the UK’s High-Value Design capability.
